The Learn to Swim programme teaches the principles of aquatic safety, water orientation and survival techniques – the core aquatic skills. These are the basic skills a swimmer requires to be comfortable, and easily advance in the aquatic environment once mastered, and include;
Aquatic Breathing | |
Streamlining | |
Balance and Buoyancy | |
Rotation and Orientation
Travel and Co-ordination
Sculling and Treading water
Entries, Exits and Diving |
Educational games and learning through fun are incorporated in each lesson.
Children are assessed and split into groups depending on their ability to ensure maximum benefit and progress. The number of learners per instructor will not exceed 4:1, thus ensuring excellent lesson quality. Swimming progress is monitored closely through regular assessment.
The core aquatic skills, once acquired, stand swimmers in good stead to further their learning in the individual strokes – freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly.
Swimmers are taught the very basics, through different levels, to full stroke in each discipline.
